The First Annual Thirsty Games

In true Mad Men style, we invest both time and money into our happy hours at Moroch. So far, we’ve checked out a new supper club equipped with a swing and go-go dancers, we’ve been to some local pubs, and we’ve even enjoyed some low-key Beer Cart Fridays here and there.

But what happens when our digital team plans a happy hour?  They strategized, organized and executed a Hunger Games-inspired “Thirsty Games” equipped with just about every digital outlet you could think of aside from holograms.

So how did the “Thirsty Games” work? Morochians were challenged to form alliances of three. Each picked a specialty: The Adventurer (the person who knows all things Moroch), The Social Butterfly (someone well-versed in social media and mobile apps) and The Pop Culture Guru (the person who knows how many Twitter followers Lady Gaga has and that Brangelina just got engaged). From there, teams worked through online trivia surveys, QR codes, photo scavenger hunts, and mobile apps to get to the next level of competition.

When the time came for battle, each specialist went to their designated training grounds with the secret passphrase for their challenge: “I volunteer as tribute.”

Tributes prepped with refreshments before dueling for victory.

Whether it was a frenzy of Nerf guns, a race to complete challenges throughout Moroch on SCVNGR or a movie trivia battle on iPads, Morochians fought hard to earn their finalist badge.

When all was said and done, only 14 of the 33 competitors were left to stand in the final round. Each finalist stood with a code and a chance to open the safe, which held the $150 grand prize. Congratulations went to team District 11th Floor, who walked away as the victors of The First Annual Thirsty Games.

So what did Morochians learn? Not only do we work at the coolest agency in town, but we are made up of some of the most outside-the-box thinkers and digitally savvy people in the industry.

Come back next year to see what other digital delights grace The Second Annual Thirsty Games!
