Our PR Team Knows Their Coffee – and That’s No Spin

PR professionals “spin” the truth and make up stories when it suits our clients’ interests, right? We just spend our days playing on social media and our nights attending fabulous cocktail parties and red carpet events, right?

Of all the myths circulating about PR professionals, there is only one that is absolutely, positively, without-a-doubt true: WE REQUIRE COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF CAFFEINE.

So listen up while we let you in on our department’s little secret: we found the best coffee in Big D.

As you’re driving down Oak Lawn Avenue, there’s a huge sign that with a finger pointing to Oak Lawn Coffee that reads “Best iced coffee in Dallas.” Skeptical of any overblown claims (we are in PR after all), we only wandered in on a recommendation from one of our interns. Now, if we had the option, we’d be on a constant IV-drip of this stuff – that’s how good it is.

From the moment you walk into OLC, you feel welcome. The way it’s tucked inside a nook, hidden between two pet-related stores, makes you feel like you’re part some kind of coffee speakeasy. OLC gets bonus points for plenty of parking and pleasant, down-to-earth people.  We also love the funky décor and the wonderfully gimmick-free drink menu. If you’ve got the munchies, OLC also makes a mean granola square (but get there early, they sell out quickly in the mornings).

Oh, and kudos to OLC for having a fantastic social media presence – check them out here and here.

Now, RUN – don’t walk – to OLC, order yourself an iced coffee with sugar-free vanilla syrup (that’s our favorite) and experience coffee nirvana for yourself.
