I had never been a long distance runner — and if I ran at all, I didn’t last longer than five minutes. So, when I set out on a mission last year to “train” (yes, train, for all you hard-core runners) for the Michelob Ultra Katy Trail 5K, I never thought I’d be able to finish it. Well, I did, and it was a huge accomplishment for me.
This year, my fellow Morochian, Brittany Adams (pictured on the right), and I ran the 5K together. I finished close to last year’s time, and Brittany finished just a few minutes before I did.
Before the race, we wished each other luck. And after, she was one of the first faces I saw at the water station -– all sweaty and red.
For me, it was a great reminder that whether we’re in the workplace or out of the workplace, Morochians are always there for one another.
